La Leche League of Singapore
is no longer active as of 15 April 2008.
What happened? Will LLL of SG return?
Kelly,
the only active Leader in the LLLSG Group has a two-year old daughter, Jillian, who has recently been diagnosed
with a rare type of kidney cancer, Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor. Jillian went through an operation to remove the kidney and
the tumor in early April. As the cancer has spread to Stage 3, she has begun a treatment plan of chemotherapy and radiation.
Treatment is expected to stretch over 7-12 months. Kelly and her family will be in and out of hospital during this period.
Kelly is Jill's primary caregiver.
In view of this situation, Kelly's family needs take precedence. It remains
to be seen if she can reactivate the Group or if a new Leader will restart it. You can check this website for updates.
Alternative sources for breastfeeding
telephone help are BMSG and the NUH Neonatal dept.

LLL is a non-profit organization entirely supported by donations, memberships and sale of materials.
Membership
We have two types of annual memberships available for interested
mothers. Our local membership is S$44 and includes a La Leche League Asia's newsletter that comes out three times per
year, 'Close to the Heart'. Our international membership is S$70 and includes a La Leche League International's 'New
Beginnings' bimonthly magazine in addition to 'Close to the Heart'. All members are entitled to free use of the Library and
a 10% discount on new books and baby slings purchased through our Group.
Your contribution will be used to purchase books and videos for our lending library as well
